Scientific Sessions

Maternal Health

The topic for discussion at the Maternal Health session at the Public Health World Conference (PHWC) 2026 is the health and safety of mothers from pregnancy through delivery and the post-delivery period. The experts will address important issues such as maternal deaths, prenatal and postnatal health, nutrition, and access to quality maternal health services. Public Health Conference 2026 aims to host thousands of international health experts, scientists, and decision makers who are behind the major changes of healthcare worldwide.

The PHWC 2026 Maternal Health session will focus on public health practices that promote safe delivery and healthy mothers while striving to eliminate health inequalities. The main goal is to create a partnership worldwide to address maternal health issues.

The session will emphasize the importance of accessing early prenatal care, the need for skilled care during delivery and access to after-birth care in improving the health of mothers. Some areas being discussed as part of this conference include improving access to emergency obstetric care in less developed areas and reducing disparities in access to care between less developed and developed countries. Participants will examine the impacts and changes that various global initiatives have made toward reducing the rates of maternal death and disability, as well as the successful relationship between mothers, healthcare providers, and caregivers during pregnancy and delivery. Some additional topics to be addressed in the session: awareness building among communities regarding the importance of maternal health issues; improvements in existing educational awareness on maternal health; and producing a broad-based opportunity for caregiving professions to understand their role in providing support to mothers. Additionally, how the use of digital tools will be shown. Finally, the session will create opportunities for collaborative efforts among governments, healthcare systems, and international human rights organizations for a collective effort to exchange knowledge among participants to arrive at innovative and sustainable ways of improving maternal health globally.

Maternal health is a very important aspect of public health. It involves the wellbeing of women’s health during the phase of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum duration. It ensures that there is easy access to healthcare facility which includes parental care and skilled assistance during the phase of childbirth. Pregnancy period is very delicate and diet is also equally important. Effective programs for maternal health should be reinforced as preventive measure which may include family planning and education. By ensuring Maternal health we can help societies to safeguard women health along with overall community wellbeing.
