Heather McCutcheon is a licensed massage therapist, Reiki Master, and founder/executive director of the Reiki Brigade NFP. Since 2011, she and her team have offered more than 8,000, ten-minute Reiki sessions to Chicago police and fire fighters, homeless veterans, incarcerated individuals, medical students and faculty, conference attendees, etc. She and co-author Sana Habiya have recently had a paper accepted by Frontiers in Psychology, exploring the highly favorable outcomes of these sessions as reported by recipients.
Heather has been both a speaker and co-host of the Reiki Rays Global Healing Summit, featuring dozens of Reiki experts and thought leaders from around the world. In early 2025 she presented at the 100 Club’s Annual Frontline Convention for first responders throughout the state of Illinois, and years earlier at the Unspoken Wounds conference hosted by the Georgia Dept. of Behavioral Health.
Heather has also written a book, Connecting the Dots: from ad exec to energy practitioner, about her journey from Reiki skeptic to activist, and her articles have been featured in numerous trade publications.
