Dr. Karen Webb, Ph.D., RN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at North Carolina Central University. Her research focuses on reducing health disparities and improving population health through community-based interventions targeting chronic disease. Drawing from nursing, public health, and behavioral science, she develops strategies to promote behavior change in vulnerable populations using mixed-methods research.
She is Co-Principal Investigator of a NIH-funded project, BeFAB, an mHealth intervention designed to improve health literacy and physical activity among students. She also collaborates on interdisciplinary projects with colleagues across health and social sciences.
With a background in cardiac and critical care, Dr. Webb integrates clinical expertise into inclusive, student-centered teaching. She mentors students in both traditional and accelerated nursing programs and is leading initiatives to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing education and research to enhance learning and evidence-based decision-making.
